Dual Brains Live at Art-A-Hack

Dual Brains EEG Brainwave Performance Premieres Live at Art-A-Hack

Watch the premiere performance of Dual Brains here in front of a live audience at Art-A-Hack Final Presentations, hosted by ThoughtWorks in New York City. The video begins with a short talk before the performance, followed by Q&A.

Dual Brains investigates human neural interaction. It is an EEG brainwave performance in real-time, conceived and led by Eva Lee for collaboration at Art-A-Hack in New York City. Inspired by neuroscientific research which indicates that human brains are fundamentally hard wired for empathy, especially under conditions of duress. The performers’ brain data is visually presented while they focus their minds on emotionally charged memories, first without physical contact and then while holding hands. Sound created from EEG and ECG data. Performance duration, 3 minutes. This project aims to create dialogue about the wonderful social implications of neural interdependence through an artistic experience.
