I feel honored to collaborate with Dr. Richard J. Davidson in the upcoming Wellbeing Summit 2022, held this year in Bilbao, Spain, June 1-3.

Conference participants of our Immersive Lab experience will be guided by Dr. Davidson through practices in inner direct observation. This event is based upon his innovative research on the brain bases of emotions and wellbeing. My work aims to provide a transformative context for viewers engaged in this self-discovery.

The four films—Who Am I; Essence In | Essence Out; NeuroReflections; and Nature of Mind—will be screened through workshop proceedings in a creative, interactive presentation. Projected in a spacious, open venue to allow for collective movement and exchange, the idea is to bring alternative and visceral new ways to understand the Four Pillars of a Healthy Mind: Awareness, Connection, Insight, and Purpose. Research shows that each is related to specific networks in the brain that can be strengthened for greater wellbeing.

It’s been quite a journey creating four experimental films for the Neuroscience and Wellbeing Program of this unique global conference. I’m getting there! Getting real, with about two more weeks to go. Audio is now being created and soon I will finalize the film editing.

And, can I just say, I love the following statements by the Summit organizers:

We believe that the arts play an integral role in the development of a new language for inner wellbeing and social change…They do this in a way that is transcendental, crossing cultural and linguistic borders.

At The Wellbeing Summit for Social Change, it is our hope that experiencing wellbeing through the arts will provoke a transformative personal experience that leads to collective understanding and action.
